![]() ![]() There will be more announcements and SoP's throughout this year but the Showcase definitely needed to do more IMO. That's why I think I think it's okay to criticize the showcase, and still be excited for gaming in 20. What I think a PlayStation Showcase should have delivered (showcasing what PlayStation is going to deliver in the near-future like 2024-2025), I think this showcase failed on, but again, gaming still looks great. I still, as always, need to catch up on my backlog and finish Dead Space to get to RE4 and Star Wars, and Zelda is cutting into that for the better. I still think the first-party games will get announced in due time and there's a chance for a great 2024. The amount of quality(TBD obviously) games that are releasing on the 3rd party side is insane with FF16, SF6, Tekken 8(?), MK1, AC:Mirage, SH2(?), MGS Collection, and maybe FF7 Rebirth. ![]() ![]() I wasn't really expecting anything first-party to be announced to the 2023 release schedule aside from maybe Factions. I am really disappointed with the showcase BUT.Ģ023 still looks amazing. Same thing with Factions if thats going to be appearing any time soon. I don't even want to mention what a stupid idea putting the GT movie trailer in this was.įinally, I know DS2 will likely be at SGF but if this showcase was so empty they could have at least given us another CGI trailer for it here and then another look at SGF. I love the game -> game -> game format, but I felt some of the cuts were super jarring and 80% of the trailers went on for way too long. Marathon looked cool! Bungie know how to make stylish games, and I think this could definitely be a hit when it releases.Īlso, I'm not sure if it was just me, but the pacing and editing of the show felt so weird and rushed. The MGS3 trailer should have been better and more grand, the start of it was good with the uncertainty of what game it is, but it just ends so briefly, I don't get it. The PSVR2 section was frankly embarrassing, and personally, although the DD2 and AW2 trailers were extremely good, I haven't played the originals so there's a limit to my excitement as well. The main issue is that in a show with such scarce showing of FP stuff, this trailer being one of five shown is extremely disappointing.Ĭoncord might as well have been an email, and quite frankly, I'm extremely confused why they thought a short CGI trailer from an unknown studio, working on a brand new IP, was a good idea, but at the same time didn't give us a CGI trailer for anything single-player, and I'm not even averse to MP or PvP games, I just don't understand that decision.ģrd party stuff was hit and miss for me, apart from Cat Quest and the Journey devs new game, none of the indies appealed to me at all. I didn't mind the CGI trailer for Fairgame$ too much, it showed off the concept (even if its a bit generic) and I kind of know what to expect now. Helldivers 2 also looked good and extremely fun with friends, hopefully, they don't send it out to die with high pricing (fingers crossed for F2P). Spider-Man 2 obviously looked great, no matter what Insomniac will always deliver at least a 7/10 experience and it's impossible to be let down by them. I mentioned multiple times pre-showcase that I would be extremely satisfied with SM2, Factions, Rise of the Ronin, and MGS3, since I thought all these games were a lock, but I guess not. I thought the potential for the showcase was high, they could have shown us games for the next two years and given us something to look forward to, but personally, I would have been pleased with what I thought wasn't very high wishes but even then Sony let me down lol. Just got home and I'm going to run through the showcase again, I'll probably think about it better than late last night but no matter what I think after two years of waiting, Sony did the bare minimum ![]()
